If you haven’t guessed already, I’m a HUGE fan of beautiful, naturally glowing skin and makeup. Less is more in my book, but there is nothing wrong with enhancing your features. I feel like I change up my makeup depending upon the season and my mood (I often just wear tinted sunscreen as my base). Lately, however, I ‘m really loving Laura Mercier Candleglow Soft Luminous Foundation.
As the name implies, this foundation imparts a soft luminosity to the skin, which I absolutely adore! The light reflecting pigments don’t settle in to fine lines and wrinkles. Also, coverage is light to medium ( think a bit more than your traditional tinted moisturizer). Plus, it is super easy to apply with fingertips or a BeautyBlender, and works perfectly when layered over the Laura Mercier Hydrating Makeup Primer. Not only that, but the foundation comes in 20 shades – cool, neutral, and warm undertones. I bought mine online (I know…it was a little bit crazy to guess my color without swatching)! However, I think the shade I selected works pretty well. My color is 1N2 Vanille. I might go up a shade or two as the spring turns into summer, but this seems to work for my skin at the moment. To finish, I spray a bit of setting spray to give it a little more staying power. Love this one to keep that dewy glow, and the matte finish one is awesome too, particularly when you are wearing a more full coverage foundation. As you can see, I have a bit of darkness under my eyes and I am in need of a little something to brighten it up – perhaps the Candleglow Concealer and Highlighter too. I’m thinking I might just save my money and purchase the iconic YSL Touche Eclat. It’s super pricey, but I’ve have always wanted to try it! During my beauty counter days in New York, I tried the By Terry version. Does anyone know how they compare? Do any of you recommend any specific concealer/highlighters? I’m always on the hunt for one that doesn’t settle into fine lines and wrinkles. Comment below if you have any suggestions and maybe I will write a future post about it!
